Chris Croy
Young Adults & Small Group Director
Chris Croy was born in Montana and moved to Texas at age seven. He grew up in a non-religious household where God and Jesus were never discussed. In 1999, Chris joined the United States Border Patrol, during which time he became firmly convinced that religion was invented to control people and held a low opinion of anyone with religious beliefs.
In 2016, Chris’s life took a significant turn when his wife, Jessica, took him to see the movie God’s Not Dead 2. A scene featuring retired Cold Case Detective Jay Warner Wallace, a former atheist turned Christian, caught his attention. Wallace explained that he became a Christian because it was "evidentially true," challenging Chris’s assumptions about faith and evidence. After months of investigation, Chris realized that if Jesus truly rose from the dead, he would need to rethink everything he believed about Christianity.
One evening, on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, Chris knelt in surrender, placing his life fully in God’s hands. Since that moment, he has dedicated himself to sharing his faith and helping others learn to share and defend their beliefs, emphasizing an evidence-based approach drawn from his own journey from skepticism to conviction.
