Aminda Martinez
AV Director
Aminda graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Biology–Pre-Med while living in Louisiana. During her senior year, she began working at Best Buy and worked her way up from cashier to general manager. After the birth of her daughter in 2008, she moved back home to Brownsville to be closer to family. Though her mom encouraged her to attend church, Aminda firmly identified as an atheist and refused—unaware that God was already pursuing her heart.
In March 2013, she attended BCF Church for the first time to take notes for her cousin, who had just undergone surgery and didn’t want to miss a sermon. The worship was unlike anything she expected, and when Pastor Kenny preached, she felt as if he was speaking directly to her. A few weeks later, on Good Friday, March 29, 2013, Aminda surrendered her life to Jesus and was baptized at Celebrate Recovery on May 24. She quickly began serving, making coffee at Celebrate Recovery, joining a 12-step group, and eventually launching Celebration Place, the children’s program for Celebrate Recovery, which she led for six years.
Aminda joined the BCF Church staff in 2017 as Children’s Coordinator and administrative assistant, and in 2019 transitioned to Production and Graphic Design, where she continues to lead and grow the AV Ministry team. She finds joy in teaching, serving, and helping others develop their gifts. Outside of ministry, Aminda loves spending time with her daughter and parents, going to the beach, baking and cooking, watching movies or live shows, reading, traveling, and enjoying life with her friends.
