1. Spiritual gifts aren't just for the "big names!"
"So the Twelve called the whole crowd of disciples together. 'Listen,' they said. 'It wouldn't be right for us to leave the word of God to wait on tables. So, brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among yourselves who are well spoken of and filled with the spirit and wisdom. We will put them in charge of what needs to be done in this matter….' The whole gathering was pleased with what they said. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the holy spirit, and…. Stephen was filled with grace and power, and performed great signs and wonders among the people." (Acts 6:2-5, 8 New Testament For Everyone)
2. We discover our gifts by using them!
3. Spiritual Gifts are our inheritance!
"There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other…. It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have." (1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 11 New Living Translation)
4. The gift of spiritual gifts
"God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies…." (1 Peter 4:10-11, NLT)
5. The gift of eternal life
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23, Christian Standard Bible)
6. The gift of the Holy Spirit
"…'Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'" (Acts 2:38, CSB)
7. The gift of forgiveness
"….For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:15, NLT)
