Juan Salinas

I was born in 1985 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, and moved to Mission, Texas in 1988, where I grew up and graduated in 2004 from La Joya Texas. After college, I joined the oilfield industry, dedicating 14 years of my life to that career.

But life doesn’t always go as planned. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, 'For I know the plans I have for you,' and boy, did I need to hear that! They say the road to recovery is paved with good intentions—mine just happened to start in a jail cell! What began as a simple visit to “support” my wife turned into a life-changing journey for me.

In 2008, I discovered Celebrate Recovery, a transformative 12-step program that integrates recovery principles with the teachings of the Bible. It was there that I truly encountered the power of Jesus Christ. I had heard of Alcoholics Anonymous and recognized the familiar steps, but what struck me deeply about Celebrate Recovery was the emphasis on knowing who that higher power is. In AA, they talk about a higher power, but they don’t name it. In Celebrate Recovery, they boldly proclaim the name of Jesus!

Today, I am honored to serve as the state representative for Celebrate Recovery in Texas and a Pastor here at BCF Church, This program has not only changed my life but has empowered me to help others find hope and healing through Christ.

This program is a beacon of hope for anyone dealing with hurt, habits, or hang-ups—whether it’s addiction, depression, or any other challenge that hinders a fulfilling life. For me, my struggles with anger, pride, and substance abuse cast a dark shadow over my life and my family. I found myself in a place I never thought I’d be: jail. That moment became my breaking point, pushing me to ask God for help and a new direction.

I had already found Christ, but it was during my time in prison that I truly met God. In that crucial moment, He gifted me with Jeremiah 29:11, whispering, 'I have a better purpose for you, but you need to let me take the lead let go.' That night in jail was all it took to ignite my transformation.

Since then, my life—and my wife’s, who also embraced the program for her own struggles—has flourished. Our relationship has grown stronger, and we are now joyfully married in our church, raising our three children in a loving and supportive environment.

Since 2008, my wife and I have embraced sobriety. Our lives have truly turned around.

If you're unsure whether this program is right for you, I encourage you to come and see for yourself. Acknowledging that something is holding you back is the first step toward healing, and exploring new paths can lead to a brighter future.

We are dedicated to serving the Lord and giving back to others. God will work miracles. One thing we do is we invest our time—something irreplaceable. Many people need time to be heard, to grieve, and simply to have someone there for them.

This journey is not just about recovery; it’s about rediscovering hope, purpose, and the power of community. Together, we can rise above our challenges and embrace the abundant life that awaits us. I invite you to join us on this journey, because with God, there is always a plan, a purpose, and a path to recovery. Let's embrace the transformative power of faith together! Love Pastor Juan
